Welcome!!!
Welcome to our virtual classroom. I am excited to extend our classroom into the virtual world, hoping that this added dimension, to your already paperless class, will enhance your learning experience. As you surf our blog note the tabs at the top of the page-Welcome that’s where you are now. About Me- just thought I’d give you quick overview. AP Language- that’s for you period 3 & 4, , Modern Literature- that’s for you period 1,2 & 5. Period 2 & 5, you may use this blog as a reference, but some information may not be unrelated to your course of study as Miss. Shane, will be your teacher for the first semester. Miss Shane may move through the course at different pace, or may take a different approach to the course that is not referenced on this blog. However, you are welcome to drop by anytime and check out what is going on in Modern Lit period 1.
Period 1, 3 and 4, pay attention to the course tabs along the left side of each page, this is called a sidebar; it is full of links and pages directly related to your course of study. The virtual classroom will serve many purposes: The links provided in the sidebar under your course name are excellent resources for you to refer to in your studies. A bulletin board for your course will have assignment reminders. The link to your gradebook and my contact email is always available. Our blog also serves as repository for your courses supplementary materials. The best part of the virtual classroom is the interactive component, find your course and look at the post section. You will be able to review discussions from class lectures and class observations as they are posted periodically. These post will give you an opportunity to expand on the information by reading peer responses or posting comments or questions yourself . You may seek peer assistance and ask for clarification on information discussed in class. Any students that wish to post comments with further clarification are welcome to become a “virtual teacher”. I welcome any intelligent conversation regarding the curriculum we are delving into… You are not required to participate in this forum, however, you may want to keep up with the conversation to gain more insight into topics of discussion.. I am trusting the maturity of each of you that participates. Enjoy our virtual classroom and remember to REPRESENT and be nice to people!!!
There are only three rules for posting:
*Keep the posts appropriate and focused.
*Post your comments to your course only.
*Sign your post as discussed in class, example- Debby122 (first name, period, seat#)
